May 15 - 18, 2013 Toronto, Canada

Society of North American Goldsmiths Conference

The Society of North American Goldsmiths conferences are the perfect recipe. We mix engaging programming, stellar exhibitions, demonstrations, an exhibitor hall, and fun social events with eight hundred to one thousand makers, educators, students, collectors, and gallerists. Marinate for three full days and the result is people who leave with the most natural buzz in the world. There almost are no words to convey the feeling of community that fills the conference hotel; even the hotel staff comments on it every year we meet. We break down all the barriers. People who have only just met are talking, laughing and sharing information with folks who have known each other for years around one common element: their love and immersion in the metal arts.

Our 2013 conference, “Meta Mosaic,” is in Toronto, May 15 through 18, at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel. The hosts are George Brown College and Harbourfront Centre, and our co- chairs are Paul McClure and Melanie Egan. It was not enough for Paul and Melanie to coordinate the conference, they decided to also create the Toronto International Jewellery Festival. The Festival will showcase the city of Toronto as a hub with exhibitions and events that inspire the public to enrich their lives through jewelry and metals. It runs the entire month of May with the SNAG conference as its centerpiece.
